Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:12-14
A native to Lynden, I attended Ebenezer Christian and Lynden High School. I attended two years at Dordt College, then finished my schooling at Central Washington University where I received my BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. I began teaching at Lynden Christian School in 2007 and I feel extremely blessed and humbled to collaborate with families as I join with them through this chapter of their child’s life.
I believe I have found God’s calling for my life in teaching and being in the classroom invigorates me. Seeing the excitement and enthusiasm children have to fill their minds with knowledge is contagious! Their hearts for the Lord and their desire to learn about and follow Him are also a joy to witness and nourish. My desire is that each child will know that God created them uniquely and loves them for the beautiful creation that they are. Consequently, we spend our school year brainstorming ways they can shine God’s love onto others.
My husband Jay and I have two boys, James and Eli. I can typically be found adventuring out in God’s creation, singing and dancing around the house, or working on home or garden projects. Our family attends North County Christ the King Church.
