I am a lifelong Christian school student, teacher, parent and administrator. I grew up in Orange City, Iowa and attended Orange City Christian School and Unity Christian High School. I attended Dordt University and graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and Secondary Education Social Studies with endorsements in Psychology and Coaching. I taught and coached at Kalamazoo Christian High School in Michigan and Unity Christian High School in Iowa. In 2010 I completed my master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in Strategic Enrollment Management at Dallas Baptist University.

I accepted my first administrative position at Mount Vernon Christian in 2010 as the High School Principal and Athletic Director. In my 15 years at MVC I have served as K-12 Principal, Athletic Director, Head Girls Basketball Coach, and for the past twelve years as the Superintendent and Director of Advancement.

Our family has experienced the blessings of Christian education as well. Monica (Crull) and I have been married for over 30 years, and all our children will be graduates of Mount Vernon Christian School. Monica works as the 7-12 Registrar at Mount Vernon Christian School. Our two oldest married children and their spouses are all products of CSI Christian Schools and Dordt University. DJ 25 is married to Taylor (Anema) a graduate of Ripon Christian, they live in Sioux Center, IA. Josie 23, is married to Matthew Bokhoven a graduate of Pella Christian, they live in Anacortes, WA. Our daughter Emma, 21, is in her final year of undergraduate work at Dordt University. Our youngest son Charlie is currently a senior at MVC.
