I first sat at the Lynden Christian choir piano in 1993 as a 6th grader. After graduating from LC in 1999 and attending Youth with a Mission’s Discipleship Training School, I took a 15-year break before returning to that same piano in 2014, this time as a staff member accompanying the high school choirs.

My love of music is woven together with my love for Jesus and His calling on my life to raise up the next generation of worship leaders. I get to work with a wonderful group of students who lead their peers in worship at Chapel every Tuesday. On Thursday afternoons during Plus Time, we plan and rehearse together, and it’s the highlight of my week!

In addition to my time at LC, I serve full time as Director of Worship and Director of Short-Term Missions at North County Christ the King. I couldn’t be more grateful to be in full-time ministry at two amazing places.

I married Matty Gerlach in 2001, and we have three kids. Our daughter, Teija, is married to Parker, and they’ve given us the precious gift of our first granddaughter, Lilly. We also have two sons, Kalen and Mason. We love being a musical family, have played together as a family band at worship events, and treasure our time together more than anything.
