I teach the 5th, 6th, 7th/8th Bands, and Music Appreciation/Guitar at the Middle School, and Concert Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band at the High School.

My journey that led me to Lynden Christian in 2017 is long and varied. I was born in Bremerton, Washington, moved to Bellingham when I was 3 years old, and stayed in Whatcom County all through school and into college. I received my undergraduate degree in Music Education from Western Washington University and my Masters Degree in Music from Central Washington University. In 2014, I also received my Principal credentials from Western Washington University, but have since decided to stay in the classroom rather than moving to the Principal’s office.

My teaching career started in 1993 and has included teaching Band, Choir, Music Appreciation, Jazz Ensembles, AP Music Theory, Steel Drums, Percussion Ensembles, and Leadership classes at both the middle school and high school levels in . I love the challenge that teaching brings me each day and feel so blessed that my work combines my greatest passions: love for my Lord and Savior, love of music, and love of students.

When I am not at school, I am home spending time with my wife, Lisa, and son, Mason. We attend First Christian Reformed Church in Lynden and participate with leading worship. When I get some free time, I like to cross stitch, play the piano, and read. My Wife and I are huge Disney fans and love going to Disneyland whenever we get the opportunity
