I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Yet, it was good of you to share in my troubles.

I graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 1981 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Before coming to Lynden Christian, I taught in Iowa at Fremont High School, Hedrick High School and Hartley–Melvin–Sanborn High School.
My passion is kids. I love seeing kids learn, work with each other, and discover how God made them so unique and special. I think a large part of teaching is developing a relationship with your students. When you have a good relationship with kids, the sky is the limit in the classroom.
My wife, Melinda, and I have three sons: Cody, Jordan and Dylan. We are members of Third Christian Reformed Church. When I’m not teaching or spending time with my family, my hobbies include playing sports and reading.
