Greetings! My name is Matthew Gudakov and I am the director of orchestras at Lynden Christian Schools. This year marks my first as a music teacher and I couldn’t have found a better place to work than here at LC. I feel so blessed to work in an environment where the name of Jesus is praised! Recently graduated from Western Washington University with degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance, I’m excited to utilize what I’ve learned in my own classes as well as model the nature of Christ to my students. Since joining the LC family, I’ve been surrounded by supportive colleagues and outstanding students who make it exciting to come to work – even on a Monday! I’m thankful for the opportunity to work alongside my colleagues in the music department as we share our love and passion for music with our students. In the past, some people have described me as humorous, and I’ve merged that characteristic into my own teaching style which has tremendously helped to build connections with my students. As we approach the last remaining days in the first quarter, I’m encouraged and excited for what’s in store in the remaining year and years to come!
