2026 Summer Camps – REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 1 at 8:30 am!

Welcome to LC’s Summer Camps!

Looking for fun and educational activities for your kids this summer? Lynden Christian is excited to offer its SUMMER CAMPS again, open to LC students and children in the community entering 1st-8th grade in the Fall! Directed by Amy Schouten and staffed by many of our current teachers and coaches, the purpose is to offer FUN, hands-on, engaging, and ENRICHING courses!

Click the button below to register. As you register your kids, please pay close attention to dates and times, as they are not uniform this year.  Registration for each camp will close one week before the camp start date.  Refunds will be given up to two weeks prior to the camp start date.

SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS

Art with Mr. VDP (1st-3rd & 4th-6th) – June 22-26 and July 20-24

  • Colorful Creations (1st-3rd) – June 22-26 and July 20-24, 9:00-11:00 am – Are you ready to explore a variety of colorful art styles and create your own masterpieces? We will be looking at some amazing artists/illustrators and their artwork. You will create your own artwork inspired by these artists. Be ready to draw, paint, and use a variety of colorful materials. Every day brings colorful creations, happy messes, and big smiles. Come join the art-filled adventure!   • Mixed Sculpture (4th-6th) – June 22-26 and July 20-24, 1:00-3:00 pm – Dive into creativity this summer in our mixed sculpture art camp, where imagination takes shape in exciting new ways! Campers will explore materials such as air-dry clay, wire, foil, cardboard, and colorful mixed media to build bold, one-of-a-kind sculptures while learning fun techniques and artistic problem‑solving. Every project celebrates experimentation and self‑expression. Perfect for curious hands and creative minds, this class is a high‑energy, mess‑friendly adventure that turns big ideas into amazing works of art!   Instructor: Ron Van Der Pol (max=15) $5 materials fee added $130

Chess (4th-8th) July 6-10, 2:15-3:45 – LCS has a strong chess tradition.  Join us and learn how to properly play the most popular board game in the world.  Terms such as fork, pins, skewers, castling, check, and checkmate will be familiar to you by the end of camp. Clay Art (1st-3rd & 4th-6th) – June 29-July 2 and (1st-3rd) July 6-9 – Want to get creative and messy?  Clay camp offers a variety of fun hand-building techniques for working with clay.  Young artists will use clay to create things they can use, like cups and bowls, and sculptural pieces just for fun. Then they will glaze their masterpieces.  Their projects will be fired and ready to be picked up the following week at the Central Office.     Instructor: Bette VanderHaak   (max=12)  $5 materials fee added    $105

Coding (4th-8th) – June 22-25, 9:30-11:00 – Did you know that learning to code helps your brain think differently? When you plan out the steps to solve a tricky puzzle, like figuring out how to get to the park, you’re actually practicing ‘algorithmic thinking’! It means taking a big problem and dividing it into smaller, easier steps, making sure you do things in the right order, just like following a recipe. During Coding Camp, we will work with the Scratch coding language to break down our big ideas into small steps so that the computer can make our ideas happen.  Instructor: Curt Ypma (max=16) $100

Cooking (2nd-4th) – July 27-30, 12:30-2:00 and 2:15-3:45 – Cooking isn’t just a way to prepare food, it can be creative too.  For successful cooking and safety, a cook should use quality ingredients, proper equipment, and follow a few basic kitchen rules. In this class, you will discover that cooking can be easy, fun, and best of all, you get to eat what you make!  NOTE: Recipes may include nuts. Drama (3rd-6th grade & 7th-9th grade) – June 29-July 2

  • Readers Theater / Beginner Theater Camp (3rd-6th grade) 10:30-12:00 – This fun, introductory camp helps students explore the basics of theater through engaging readers theater activities. Students will learn how to project their voice, use facial expressions, and develop simple character backstories. We’ll also explore elements of production, including how costumes are designed and created. This camp is perfect for building confidence and creativity in a supportive environment. Instructor: Bronwyn Riggins (no max) $100
  • Audition Prep Camp (7th-9th grade) 1:00-2:30 – This camp is designed to help older students develop strong, confident audition skills. Students will learn how to choose appropriate songs and monologues that highlight their strengths and avoid common pitfalls. Through guided practice and feedback, they will refine their audition pieces and performance techniques. By the end, students will feel prepared and confident walking into any audition. Instructor: Bronwyn Riggins (no max) $100

Knitting (5th-8th) –June 22-26, 2:00-3:30 – Have you ever wanted to make your own clothes? Come to knitting class to learn all the skills necessary to make your first scarf to take home at the end of the week! Instructors: Bea Frost & Eliza Frost (max=12)   $5 materials fee added $130

Photography (4th-8th) – July 27-31 12:30-2:00 – This course is a fun and hands-on introduction to exploring the world through a camera lens. You will learn the basics of photography, including composition, lighting, and creative techniques, while capturing unique images. There will be interactive challenges, photo walks, and other fun activities to help bring your ideas to life. This will be a fun and comfortable environment to express yourself, build confidence, and see the world from a whole new perspective. Equipment needed: a digital camera, preferably not an iPhone or other smartphone. Any other type of camera will work.    Instructor: Nate & Danica Lynch  (max=12)    $125

S.T.E.A.M. (1st-3rd & 4th-8th) – July 13-17 – Step into a world where creativity meets innovation!  You will embark on an exciting journey through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.  From exploring simple machines to constructing towering structures, this hands-on experience promises to ignite young minds and cultivate a passion for exploration while also unleashing problem-solving and critical thinking skills.  Instructor: Lynne Barrios   (max=16)      $5 materials fee added    $130

SPORTS CAMPS

Archery (4th-8th) – June 22-26, July 6-10, and July 20-24 – Ready, Set, Aim! This class is for beginning to intermediate archers. When the shooter is on the line, they will learn good aiming techniques as well as stance and follow-through.  This is a fun class where focus and discipline are also learned and practiced.  Instructors: Julie McGillivray & Allan Scott (max=16)  $125

  • Little Dribblers (boys & girls) (1st –3rd) July 13-16, 9:30-11:00 – With a focus on having fun while learning basketball’s fundamentals, this camp is a great, comfortable learning opportunity for young boys and girls of all skill levels.  Instructor: Brady Bomber    (No max)    $100

  • Boys (4th–8th) July 13-15 2:30-4:30 – Nail the jumper, dominate in defense, and pass like a pro!  This camp will be full of drills and competition.     Instructor: Tim Zylstra    (No max)    $75

Beach Volleyball (boys & girls) (5th-8th) – June 15-18, 9:00-11:00 – Get ready to bump, set, and spike your way through the week at our Beach Volleyball Camp! Designed for 5th through 8th graders, this camp is perfect for players of all skill levels who want to learn the game, build confidence, and have fun in the sand. Our experienced coaches focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and game play in an energetic and supportive environment. Whether you’re new to volleyball or looking to sharpen your skills, you’ll leave with new friends, improved technique, and a love for the beach game. Golf (boys & girls) 4th-9th grade – July 20-23, Time: 2:00-4:00 – All skill levels are welcome! Join in and learn new skills, or improve on the ones you already have. We will be working on our long game, short game, and golf etiquette. Golf camp will be held at Shuksan Golf Club on East Axton Rd. Instructors: Darin DeYoung and Scott Engels (max=20) $100

Pickleball (5th-8th) – June 29-July 3 EXCEPT TUESDAY, 9:30-11:00 Pickleball—what could be more fun? Players will build basic hitting skills and learn simple game strategies and rules through engaging drills and mini-games—all in a supportive environment. Whether you’re brand new or already have some experience, you’ll improve your skills and discover just how fun pickleball can be! Instructor: Cheryl Westra (max=16) $100

TennisJune 22-26, 9:00-10:30 (1st-3rd) and 10:45-12:15 (4th-6th)- Let’s Play!!! Our tennis sessions will provide a fun learning experience for beginner to intermediate players.  They will be introduced to basic skills and techniques for their tennis game.  They will learn the fundamental strokes, footwork, and rules using a combination of drills and games.  Instructor: Amber Zoerink   (max=16)  $125

Volleyball (boys & girls) July 20-23 – Join us for four days of fun, energy, and volleyball! This camp is great for all levels and all players will improve their skills. Campers will learn passing, setting, hitting, and serving in a positive, encouraging environment. They will build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy games and fun competitions along the way. Come ready to learn, compete, and have a blast. We can’t wait to see you on the court! Bonus: Each camper receives a volleyball to take home!
