“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
I am honored to be a sixth grade teacher at Lynden Christian School. When I was a senior in high school, my family and I returned to the U.S. after serving in Brazil as a missionary family for eleven years. I graduated from Calvin College in 1984. Subsequent years were rewarded with an M.A. in Educational Administration from San Diego State University. After teaching in the public school system for five years, through a set of providential circumstances, the Lord led me to Lynden Christian where I have been teaching since 1991. I am most passionate about conversations around ultimate questions, giving students an opportunity to learn and reflect on Biblical truth claims in contrast to other worldviews. My DEEP HOPE is that students will seek TRUTH, overflow with GRACE, and find meaning and eternal purpose for their lives, giving God the glory.
Bill and I have three daughters; all three girls graduated from LC, and once upon a time, they were in my class as sixth graders. Growing and grateful, we are further blessed with three sons-in-law and love being grandparents to seven kiddos. We are active members at Second CRC and enjoy cycling and hiking in the summer.
