“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
After graduating from Lynden Christian in 2000, I attended Dordt College and graduated in 2004 with an Elementary Education degree. In 2005, my first teaching job took me to the country of Honduras, where I taught first grade at a bilingual Christian school. I moved back home and married my husband in 2007. One year after our first son was born, we moved to Honduras to become fulltime missionaries for three years. Once our second son was born, we moved back to the states to be near family. I stayed at home for several years to raise my boys, teaching preschool part time at both my home church (NCCTK) and Lynden Christian. After 10 years of teaching preschool, God called me back to Lynden Christian to be a full time teacher.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, baking, hiking, and spending time with my family. My two boys are students at Lynden Christian, which is a blessing to be teaching in the same school that they attend.
I love my job at Lynden Christian. I love seeing the joy in children’s faces when a lightbulb goes on in their head, learning something new and amazing that they didn’t know before. It is a privilege to be a teacher to God’s children and see how their story unfolds in His story.
