A Special Kind of Education – LC Teacher

This morning, in the elementary school chapel, we sang the song He Knows My Name. My eyes filled with tears as this song resonated with my heart. I thought of our students in our new special education program and their tremendous struggles academically and emotionally. To have a special education program in our elementary school, to sing and watch these students learn about a God who knows them, loves them and catches all those tears of frustration and struggle. Connection – High School Teacher

One of my guilty pleasures on Monday nights is to curl up on the couch and watch PBS’ “Antique Roadshow”. There is just something about watching people’s hopes and dreams realized when the painting rescued from the garbage turns out to be worth a hefty amount, or that moment when the whatchamacallit inherited from Aunt Thelma turns out to be worth a small fortune. Grace

“How much money do you have?” asked the ten year old boy. “Oh, I am very rich.” replied my grandmother. My grandmother is one of the most grace-filled, joyful, sweet women I know. Sound familiar? While this phrase might sound typical of grandmothers, she has every right—humanly speaking—to be a bitter and depressed woman.
