Welcome to LC’s Summer Camps!
Looking for fun and educational activities for your kids this summer? Lynden Christian is excited to offer its SUMMER CAMPS again, open to LC students and children in the community entering 1st-8th grade in the Fall! Directed by Amy Schouten and staffed by many of our current teachers and coaches, the purpose is to offer FUN, hands-on, engaging, and ENRICHING courses!
Click the button below to register. As you register your kids, please pay close attention to dates and times, as they are not uniform this year. Registration for each camp will close one week before the camp start date. Refunds will be given up to two weeks prior to the camp start date.

SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS
Chess (4th-8th) – July 7-11, 2:15-3:45 – LCS has a strong chess tradition. Join us and learn how to properly play the most popular board game in the world. Terms such as fork, pins, skewers, castling, check, and checkmate will be familiar to you by the end of camp. Instructor: Brady Hornstra (max=20) $125

Cooking (1st-3rd) – July 7-10, 12:30-2:00 and 2:15-3:45 – Cooking isn’t just a way to prepare food, it can be creative too. For successful cooking and safety, a cook should use quality ingredients, proper equipment, and follow a few basic kitchen rules. In this class, you will discover that cooking can be easy, fun, and best of all, you get to eat what you make! Instructor: Kay Morris (max=12) $10 materials fee added $110

Drama (4th-8th) – July 17, 18, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, & 31, 9:00-12:00 – This camp is a fun and immersive introduction to the world of theatre, designed especially for young performers. Students will explore drama through improv games, memorization tips, and hands-on lessons about theatre terms and equipment. The course will culminate in a delightful kids’ workshop production of Finding Nemo (performance will be 6:30 pm on July 31), giving students a chance to bring characters to life on stage. It’s a supportive, low-pressure environment that encourages creativity and helps kids build confidence as they step out of their comfort zones. T-shirt included. Clay Art (1st-3rd & 4th-6th) – July 14-17 and (1st-3rd) July 21-24 – Want to get creative and messy? Clay camp offers a variety of fun hand-building techniques for working with clay. Young artists will use clay to create things they can use, like cups and bowls, and sculptural pieces just for fun. Then they will glaze their masterpieces. Their projects will be fired and ready to be picked up the following week at the Central Office. Instructor: Bette VanderHaak (max=12) $5 materials fee added $105

Ukulele (3rd-5th & 6th-8th) – June 23-27 – Join us for Ukulele Camp at Lynden Christian School! This fun and engaging week-long camp invites children to explore the history of the ukulele, learn a variety of chords, practice strumming patterns, and build confidence in playing music together. Throughout the week, children will grow in their musical abilities and understanding of this cheerful instrument. The week will conclude with a student-led presentation showcasing what they’ve learned—perfect for family and friends to enjoy! Instructor: Bronwyn Riggins (max=20) $125

S.T.E.A.M. (1st-3rd & 4th-8th) – June 16-20 and July 21-25 – Step into a world where creativity meets innovation! You will embark on an exciting journey through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. From exploring simple machines to constructing towering structures, this hands-on experience promises to ignite young minds and cultivate a passion for exploration while also unleashing problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Coding (4th-8th) – June 23-26 and July 14-17, 9:30-11:00 – Did you know that learning to code helps your brain think differently? When you plan out the steps to solve a tricky puzzle, like figuring out how to get to the park, you’re actually practicing ‘algorithmic thinking’! It means taking a big problem and dividing it into smaller, easier steps, making sure you do things in the right order, just like following a recipe. During Coding Camp, we will work with the Scratch coding language to break down our big ideas into small steps so that the computer can make our ideas happen. Instructor: Curt Ypma (max=16) $100

Sign Language (1st-3rd) – July 16-20, 12:30-2:00 and 2:15-3:45 – Get ready to have fun while learning American Sign Language (ASL)! We’ll explore the basics of signing and discover how to communicate in a whole new way. In this session, we’ll start with the ASL alphabet, learning how to sign each letter and fingerspell your name. Then, we’ll move on to basic words and phrases, including common greetings, polite expressions, and useful everyday signs. To wrap it all up, we’ll learn a fun song in ASL, bringing the lyrics to life through sign. By the end of class, you’ll be able to introduce yourself, sign along to a song, and even recite the Pledge of Allegiance in ASL. Instructor: Shari DeBoom (max=12) $125

SPORTS CAMPS
Archery (4th-8th) – June 23-27, June 30-July 3 (no 4th), and July 7-11 – Ready, Set, Aim! This class is for beginning to intermediate archers. When the shooter is on the line, they will learn good aiming techniques as well as stance and follow-through. This is a fun class where focus and discipline are also learned and practiced. Boys Baseball (3rd-6th) – July 21-23 – 10:30-12:00 – Join our Baseball Camp designed just for students in grades 3–6! Young athletes will build confidence and improve their hitting, fielding, and base-running through fun drills and expert coaching. It’s the perfect mix of learning and play for kids who love the game! Instructor: Noah Rawls $75

Basketball – Come experience basketball in a positive environment!
- Little Dribblers (boys & girls) (1st –3rd) July 14-17, 9:30-11:00 – With a focus on having fun while learning basketball’s fundamentals, this camp is a great, comfortable learning opportunity for young boys and girls of all skill levels. Instructor: Brady Bomber (No max) $100
- Girls (4th–8th) July 14-17 11:30-2:00 – With a focus on basketball skill development and team-building principles, this camp features great individual practice and team contests. Instructor: Brady Bomber (No max) $100
- Boys (4th–8th) July 14-16 2:30-4:30 – Nail the jumper, dominate in defense, and pass like a pro! This camp will be full of drills and competition. Instructor: Tim Zylstra (No max) $75
Boys Football – Monday and Wednesday evenings, July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, & 23, 6:30-7:30 (3rd-5th) and 7:30-8:30 (6th-8th) – This year, we are offering an opportunity for boys to be involved in three weeks of 7 on 7 football. On Mondays and Wednesdays, boys will practice offensive and defensive skills, followed by 7 on 7 competitions. Instructors: Greg Terpstra and the LCHS football players (No max) $120

Golf (boys & girls) (4th-8th) – July 9-11, 4:30-6:00 – Whether you’re new to the game or looking to sharpen your skills, this camp offers the perfect blend of learning and fun on the green. Golf camp will be held at Shuksan Golf Club on East Axton Rd. Instructor: Scott Engels (max=20) $75

Soccer – June 23-26, 4:30-5:30 (2nd-4th) and 5:30-6:30 (5th-8th) – Burn off some energy and learn something new at soccer camp this year! All skill levels are welcome, and all campers are sure to have a fun week of drills, skill-building, and games! Instructors: Chad Fakkema & Jerimy Saldivar (No max) $80

Tennis – June 16-20, 9:00-10:30 (1st-3rd) and 10:45-12:15 (4th-6th)- Let’s Go Play!!! Our tennis session will provide a fun learning experience for beginner to intermediate players. They will be introduced to basic skills and techniques for their tennis game. They will learn the fundamental strokes, footwork, and rules using a combination of drills and games. - Little Spikers (boys & girls) (1st –3rd) July 21-23, 12:30-2:00 – Campers will be taught the basic fundamentals of the game, including techniques of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Come improve your skills and learn some new ones!
- Girls (4th–8th) July 21-23, 2:15-3:45 – With a focus on basic volleyball skills, techniques, team building, and individual practice, this camp will be sure to be filled with competition and fun.
