Before and after school

Students are asked not to arrive before 8:15 a.m. nor remain after 3:30 p.m.; teachers are working and may not be in the classroom. Please notify the teacher and the school office in advance if you plan to drop off your child early or pick them up late.

What to do when your child is sick

If your child is sick, please notify the middle school office at 360-318-9525 (option 2) or MSattendance@lyncs.org prior to 8:30 a.m.

What to do if your child has a doctor or dentist appointment

If your child will miss part of a day due to an appointment, please send a note to your child’s teacher and call or email the school office. All middle school students must check in at the office when they leave and return from off campus. The sign out sheet is on the student counter.

Extended Absences/Vacations

Complete the Excused Absence Form and return it to the school office, well in advance of the planned absence.

Grades 5 – 6: A simple form that must be completed and signed by the parent and returned to the office. A note to the teacher is very much appreciated so that arrangements may be arranged for homework.

Grades 7 – 8: There are two parts to this form, first the parents must complete their section and then, secondly, give it to their child so that each teacher may sign their initials. It is required that each teacher (since they have 7 periods a day) be notified in this manner so that arrangements may be made for homework, tests and projects.
