I grew up in Poulsbo and moved to Whatcom County at age 16 years old. I graduated from Nooksack Valley High School, and then attended and graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education; later earning my Master’s Degree in Reading. I have been an elementary teacher for over 15 years – most years spent in kindergarten (but also in grades 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th). I am excited to teach 7th grade ELA as I love words, punctuation, grammar, books, and creative expression through writing!

My husband, Phil, and I have been married for 25 years. We have five kids (plus a new daughter-in-law!). Phil and I love to hike, explore new places, camp, and travel. We attend New Song church in Bellingham.

I am very excited to be teaching at Lynden Christian and look forward to an awesome year in 7th grade. My deep hope is that all my students will know that they are deeply loved and valued by God; and that they will know and experience the extravagant, generous grace that Jesus gives.

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”  Isaiah 41:13
