Summer School and Summer Camps!

Looking for fun and educational activities for your kids this summer? We are excited to offer SUMMER SCHOOL AND CAMPS! Registration is open for students entering grades 1 – 6, both to LC students and the community. Directed by Amy Schouten and staffed by many of our current teachers, the purpose is to offer FUN, hands-on, engaging and ENRICHING courses!

Each summer school session will run for 3 weeks, with two sessions being offered.

Summer camps will run in the afternoons for 1-week sessions.

You may register for school, or camps, or BOTH!

  • SUMMER SCHOOL SESSION 1: June 21 – July 9, 8:30am – 12pm
  • SUMMER SCHOOL SESSION 2: July 19 – August 6, 8:30am-12pm
  • CAMP SESSIONS: June 21-25, June 28-July 2, July 6-9, July 19-23, July 26-30 and August 2-6


Camp Courses Available

Tennis –   Let’s Go Play!!! Our tennis session will provide a fun learning experience for beginner to intermediate players.  They will be introduced to basic skills and techniques for their tennis game.  They will learn the fundamental strokes, footwork and rules using a combination of drills and games.

Basketball – Boys and Girls Little Dribblers (1st – 3rd) and Girls (4th – 8th grade)
NEW! Boys Basketball (4th – 8th grade) July 6 – 8, 12:30pm – 2pm.

NEW! – Cheer – For girls going into grades 1 – 4, July 14 – 16 from 2pm – 3:30pm. Join the LC cheer coaches for 3 days of fun, and then walk in the Farmer’s Day Parade on July 17th!



Archery – Ready, Set, Aim! This class is for beginning to intermediate Archers. When the shooter is on the line, they will learn good aiming techniques as well as stance and follow through.  This is a fun class where focus and discipline are also learned and practiced.

Music – “Bach n’ Roll” (1st -3rd) Get into the swing of things this summer with a class designed for budding musicians.  Students will have the opportunity to study rhythm, music theory, listening, movement, percussion, and voice.  Musical games and activities will keep your students’ feet tapping!

“Sounds of Summer” (4th – 6th) Cool off and beat the summer heat with the sweet sounds of music.  This class is designed to expose students to many aspects of music including movement, rhythm, exploring creativity, music theory and history.  Using group activities and games, your student can brush up on their musical ability or be inspired to try music for the first time.  They’ll be sure to leave class humming a tune!

Art Open Studio (4th – 6th)  Welcome to the art studio! Let’s make some art!  Draw, paint, collage, invent, construct, weave & sculpt! Each day in the art studio will start with fun activities to introduce materials and skills followed by creation time (Open Studio) using the student-artist’s own ideas.  This course is  held in LC Middle School Art Studio, a fully stocked art studio designed to empower students to engage in the process of artmaking. *Students may take both sessions of this course to allow for more art making time. (Current LCMS students are familiar with the studio and encouraged to take this course!  It will be fun to see familiar faces!! Studio tables will be back/no more desks!)

Cross Fit – (1st -3rd and 4th – 6th) Students will learn how to pair fitness with fun; essential to setting them on a path toward a lifetime of fitness.

Fairy Tales & Art – (1st – 3rd) Everyone loves a great Fairy Tale! This course will mix reading, writing, and art to give a unique perspective on classic fairy tales.




Watercoloring God’s Creation – (1st-3rd) In this class we will work on learning the fundamental skills of watercolors, while learning to be good observers of God’s Creation.  We will create different art projects using watercolors, that demonstrate the beauty in Creation!

Drawing with Perspective – (1st – 3rd) In this class we will work on developing different drawing skills.  We will learn about 1 point perspective, while developing techniques like shading, cross-hatching, stippling and more!

Coop Games – (4th – 6th) This class is an extension of the Physical Education Program.  Students are exposed to a variety of activities and cooperative games where fun and fitness are emphasized.  Games include Capture the Gold, Brawn Ball, Handball, Four Corner Soccer, and Ultimate PE Game.

Science Experiments – (1st-3rd) Explore fundamental principles of science through amazing science experiments! You will learn about heat, pressure, surface tension, buoyancy, chemical reactions, and more.

Cooking – (1st – 3rd) Cooking isn’t just a way to prepare food, it can be creative too.  For successful cooking and safety, a cook should use quality ingredients, proper equipment, and follow a few basic kitchen rules. In this class you will discover that cooking can be easy, fun, and best of all, you get to eat what you make!
