I was born and raised on a small farm in Pella, IA and received my B.A. degree in music education in 2009 from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL. Since moving to Washington in 2010, I have been involved in Christian Education, teaching elementary, middle, and high school bands and choirs until 2018, where God called me to Lynden Christian Schools to be the director of choral activities.

Outside of the choral classroom, I enjoy traveling, cooking, trail running, and our annual Sloan Family Vacation to a secluded lake cabin in Minnesota. In the community, I have been involved in the Bellingham Chamber Chorale, an auditioned community choir. Since 2015, I have also been actively involved in Cornwall Church’s Creative Arts Ministry by volunteering as a worship leader.

The Lord has blessed me by giving me my wonderful husband, Dustin, and being able to live in the beautiful Whatcom county area. My favorite bible verse is I Corinthians 14:15. “What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.” Soli Deo Gloria.
