“I pray that you…may have power…to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.”
I love children! God has given me a love for children’s ministry. I look at preschool as a ministry to show God’s love to children and their families. I want to partner with parents where Christian values are taught and God’s world and his love is opened up to children in a variety of ways using child-centered activities.
I graduated from Southwest Christian High School, in Edgerton, Minnesota in 1973. I graduated from Dordt College in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I taught second grade at Lynden Christian from 1977 until 1981. In 1990 I began work at the Gingerbread House Preschool. I was a teacher there for nine years, and a teacher/director for one year. In 2000, the preschool program began at Lynden Christian and I continue to serve as the lead teacher and director.
I am married to Calvin Bratt, who is an editor for the Lynden Tribune. We have four married daughters. Ten of my greatest blessings call me Grandma. In my spare time, I enjoy quilting, traveling, camping and reading children’s literature. My husband and I are members at Third Christian Reformed Church.
