To act JUSTLY, To love KINDNESS, To walk HUMBLY With our God.
Micah 6: 8b

Great is thy faithfulness. God used “teaching 6th Grade Sunday School” to lead me into education.

In the early 90’s and as a mother of my young family, I began my journey of becoming an educator by teaching at Faith Reformed Church while attending our local institutions: WCC and WWU becoming a dual-certificated K-12 Special Education and K-8 Elementary Education teacher. For 10 years, I was called to teach at the middle levels of 5th-8th Grade and eventually received a Master’s in Administration with a 4-12 Principal’s Certificate. Prior to joining Lynden Christian in 2019, I served in these additional roles: Lynden High School’s Assistant Principal for 3 years and 11 years as the Principal of Bernice Vossbeck Elementary. I had retired while remaining open to part time possibilities.

The Lord opened the door and I have had the blessing of serving in recent years at LC in these capacities:  2019-2020 Interim Co-Principal at the HS; 2020-21 Middle School Inclusion Specialist; 2021-Present District Director of Learning being involved with our staff development, curriculum alignment, and new staff orientations. It has been a delight to join the Lynden Christian School community in these various halftime capacities.

My husband and I are blessed to have raised our four grown children in our wonderful community while fellowshipping and worshipping with our church family at Calvary Chapel Northwest. We are grateful to have added three more children (through marriage) and ten grandchildren to the fold. In addition to enjoying the development, enthusiasm, and giftedness of LC’s students and staff while being with them at school and supporting them as they further incorporate their biblical worldview with Christ as the focal point of their learning endeavors, it is also wonderful to be more present with our kids and our grands at this stage of life. We love traveling to visit/watch them in their communities in southern California, Seattle, and around Whatcom County. In our spare time, we love landscaping, reading, golfing, hiking, other outdoorsy things, and traveling to places we haven’t yet explored.

As a director for learning at LC, these are my foundational desires in bringing all glory to our heavenly Father:

Deep Hope: To Seek and to love the Lord wholeheartedly; to love others; and to receive love.

Storyline: To see {behold} and encourage our students and others to behold the Glory of God in each person as they recognize their part as image bearers in the Kingdom Story.
