Lynden Christian Board of Directors Summary – March 30, 2020

Jon DeJong opened the meeting by reading a collection of verses to remind of God’s presence through the uncertainty of the current situation. Psalm 46 – God is our refuge; Prov 16:9 – God guides our steps; Rom 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace.

Board members shared reasons for celebration through recent LC activities. There were multiple praises related to staff and admin efforts to move learning to online; our teachers are amazing!

Superintendent Paul Bootsma updated the board on the efforts at LC to follow state and county protocols related to the coronavirus, and that the move to online means we will not need to use credit waivers.

The board approved the LC finance group to further investigate and pursue potential loans/grants that have been created as a result of the recent passing of the “CARES Act.”

Dan Gibson updated the board on the creation of a separate 501(c)(3) entity for the acquisition of property for use by the school; this was approved at the March 2 board meeting.

The meeting was closed with prayer.
