Following graduation from Lynden Christian in 1997, I attended Trinity Western University and received a Bachelor’s degree in 2001. I then received my teacher’s certification in 2002. My first teaching job was at Northwest Christian School in Newton, New Jersey, where I taught 5th graders.

I have been teaching 7th and 8th graders at Lynden Christian School since 2004. My primary teaching assignments have been Bible and Language arts, but I’ve also taught several electives, including a media awareness class, a history elective, P.E., and an economics elective.

I am a strong believer in the stated goals of Lynden Christian’s mission statement. I believe Lynden Christian has been an effective instrument of God—I know it was for me when I attended the school. The best way we can continue to produce citizens who will have a transforming influence in the world is to cooperate with the Christian home and the church. To help me achieve this goal I try to develop a healthy student-teacher relationship and be a godly role model to my students. I also try to partner with the community of believers in my Bible classes to encourage spiritual growth.

I’ve been married to my beautiful wife since 2002, and we have three children. We attend Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden.
