8th Grade Teacher

I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121

I teach 6th-8th grades at Evergreen Christian School. I graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Secondary Education and endorsements in social studies and geography. I began teaching at Evergreen Christian School in 1991. Prior to that, I was a substitute teacher in the Bellingham and Lynden school districts.

My greatest joy in teaching is seeing the students become excited about learning. It is my hope to help them see the beauty of God's Creation in all that we learn, and to encourage them in their areas of giftedness. I like to ask questions that make students think, and in turn watch students begin to ask those questions.

My husband, Butch, and I have two sons, Trevor and Derek. We are huge sports fans, especially soccer and basketball. We enjoy helping coach the boys' teams. We also enjoy traveling when we have the opportunity. We attend The Church @ Bakerview.
