I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. I graduated from the University of Missouri with Bachelor’s Degrees in History (2002) and Education (2004). I taught High School History, Economics, Geography and Practical Law, as well as Middle School Social Studies in the Kansas City area.
In 2008 God called my family and I to Lynden where I took a job at L.C. as a middle school Language Arts teacher. In 2010 the Lord continued His plan by placing me in the high school to teach History. With a passion for History, I believe that our past has all been part of God’s plan, and our future should glorify Him and His creation.
Outside the classroom, I spend my summers as a United States Park Ranger in Yellowstone National Park. As a Ranger, I’m a law enforcement officer, structural and wild land firefighter, and emergency medical treatment provider. I’m truly blessed to be able to experience God’s creation in Yellowstone every summer!
The Lord has also blessed me with an amazing wife, and three beautiful children of our own. We are members of Third Christian Reformed Church.
