Welcome to Lynden Christian Middle School. The middle school encompasses grades 5 through 8 in a modern building that lies behind the elementary school. The entire student body of LCS is within a few minutes walk of each other. This proximity is a blessing for our students, brothers and sisters and families.
The academic program for our students is rigorous and varied. Our students regularly score well above the national average in standardized test scores. In addition we offer art classes, yearbook, drama, orchestra and band; after school we offer competitive sports, chess club and fiddle club.
Extended Absences/Vacations
Complete the Excused Absence Form and return it to the school office, well in advance of the planned absence.
Grades 5 - 6: A simple form that must be completed and signed by the parent and returned to the office. A note to the teacher is very much appreciated so that arrangements may be arranged for homework.
Pre-6th Grade Excused Absence Form (Word)
Grades 7 - 8: There are two parts to this form, first the parents must complete their section and then, secondly, give it to their child so that each teacher may sign their initials. It is required that each teacher (since they have 7 periods a day) be notified in this manner so that arrangements may be made for homework, tests and projects. The student must return the completed form in to the Middle School Office.
