This is a new event to LC and an effort to increase funds for our tuition assistance program. Tickets are $95.00 per person, corporate sponsorship opportunities are available. Athletic Reminders

Post-Season Play - During play-offs, please remember that passes are not valid at tri-district, sub-district, district and state tournaments.  Everyone must pay admission to these events, including students with an ASB card, even if the event is held at Lynden Christian.  This applies to all LC staff and faculty as well.

Balls Not Permitted – Just a reminder that balls are not allowed at MS or HS athletic events. These are a distraction and a safety concern (this includes playing with balls outdoors during an indoor competition).  Please remind your children of this when attending football, basketball and volleyball games.

Event Garbage - We really need your help! We are finding that cleaning the football and gym bleachers is getting more and more difficult due to the amount of garbage left behind by spectators. Please help us out by placing any trash into the garbage cans located throughout the stadium or gym.

Dogs - Just a reminder that dogs/pets are not permitted on school grounds (with the exception of service dogs).

Athletic Information can be found at www.nwcathletics.com.  This includes post season brackets, schedules (schedule changes), rosters, scores and directions.

MS Athletic Information - The NWC site that is used for HS athletic schedules is now expanding to include our middle school.  Click here to use the site and see what events are happening by clicking on the calendar – it will even show dismissal and leave times!  Please be patient…It is a work in progress!

Second Chance Annual Open House will be on Monday, November 6 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  This is a special event for our Lynden Christian community and faithful volunteers. We are preparing an evening full of yummy treats, lots of door prizes, and you will be one of the firsts to see the one of a kind gifts we have available this time of year. Come relax and enjoy a night of mingling and shopping!

K-12 Thanksgiving Food Drive Starts

Wednesday, November 22

K-12 Thanksgiving Food Drive Ends and Family Groups Activity

Thanksgiving Food Drive! - We are planning our fifth campus-wide Thanksgiving Food Drive – and we need your help!  Students from grades K-12 are asked to bring non-perishable food items which will be donated to Project Hope, our local food bank.  Students in K-8 should bring food to their homerooms beginning Monday, November 13. Students will meet in cross-grade level "Family Groups" on Wednesday, November 22 to sort and stack all the food donations, so the food must be brought to school by the morning of Wednesday, November 22.  You are encouraged to make this a family project and involve your children in the food choices for their donations.  The food bank suggests the following food items: canned fruit, canned vegetables, soup, beans (kidney, refried, chili, red, dried, etc.), rice, canned meat, hot & cold cereal, flour, Jell-O and  mac & cheese.  Financial donations would also be greatly appreciated.  Donations during this time of year are very important, especially this year as the number of families in need has increased significantly in our local community.  These cross campus activities are purposefully designed to teach children to love God and others, form multi-age relationships, and create a stronger, closer school community.

Fall Coffee Social for Moms – Moms, please mark your calendars for Monday, November 6 around 9:30 am for a time of fun and fellowship with other LC moms at the Woods Coffee on Bender Rd. (after the elementary school chapel).  This will be a great time for moms to meet one another to get connected (whether you are new to LC this year or not)!  Please contact Shawna VanderLeest (360-389-1017) if you have any questions.

Thanksgiving Chess Classic Tournament – The Lynden Christian Chess Club will be hosting the Thanksgiving tournament on Saturday, November 18 in the MS gym.  Players in Grades K-8 are invited to participate in the contest and registration can be completed online at www.Chess4Life.com.   If you have any questions, please contact Karen Diephuis (kdiephuis@lyncs.org).
