LC Spring Support Saturday - In addition to our annual Pancake Day, the plant sale and car wash, FOLC is hosting an Artisan and Vendor Market! We are currently full, but if you would like to be placed on a waiting list, please contact Rachel Hernes at 360-220-0496.


Re-Enrollment Fee Reminder – If you are not signed up for auto-pay and you have not paid your re-enrollment fee of $100, it is due Friday, March 30. For those signed up for auto-pay, your fee will be processed as a separate withdrawal for $100, on the date you have previously chosen – April 2, 10, 20 or 30, unless you have made other arrangements.

LCS Annual Pancake Breakfast is on Saturday, April 21 from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Lynden campus middle school gym.  Purchase tickets from any LC campus 5th grade student. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Prices are $7.00 (grades 9 and above), $5.00 (grades K-8).  All proceeds are used to fund the 6th grade outdoor education program.

LCHS Choir Dinner and Pops Concert will be held on Friday, April 27 and Saturday. April 28.  Enjoy a meal served to you by students and music performed for you by student soloists, small groups, and choirs!  There will be a variety of popular music including: Broadway, Disney, oldies, new pop hits and more.  The show will be presented in the middle school gym at 7:00 pm each evening.  Ticket prices are $15.00 for adults and $7.00 for kids ages 3-10; children 2 and under are free.  Tickets will go on sale Friday, March 23 at the Central Office or through a high school choir student.  Don’t miss out on a fun night of music!

State Basketball Championship T-shirts – To celebrate the state championship for both the boys and girls basketball teams, an on-line store has been created with some state championship apparel for purchase. Please feel free to pass this link ( along to others in our LC community!  We will announce when the orders are ready to be picked up at the HS office.

Theresa Tromp Tournament Results - Congratulations to Liam Diephuis (LC junior), who won all 5 of rounds of chess took the top prize in the 48th Annual Theresa Tromp Chess tournament that was held this past weekend. This year, 68 students from Lynden participated in this locally famous chess tournament. Twenty-nine of these students were from Lynden Christian ranging in age from second grade to eleventh grade many of them doing very well winning 3 or more rounds of chess. Emma Doede (10th grade), Gabe Diephuis (9th grade), and Lathan VanderLeest (8th grade) each won 4 of their 5 rounds to finish in a 10 way tie for 3rd place.

Lost and Found – Please have your child(ren) check the lost and found hooks and shelves located near the recess exit doors for anything that might belong to them.  Our collection keeps growing!  Items not claimed by Spring Break will be donated to the Second Chance Thrift StoBox Tops News – March collection is almost done! We need all the participation we can get to meet our goals for the year!  Please send in your Box Tops with your elementary school student and be sure your child’s teacher’s name is clearly marked on the bag so his or her class will get the credit.

Student Jobs and Volunteer Opportunities – A new web page for student employment opportunities has been added to the Lyncs website and can be found here.  New to the list: summer work at Enfield Farms, spring yard and garden work for a community member, position as a page at the Lynden Library, yardwork and home maintenance-after school or Saturdays, and Kiwanis Youth Law Enforcement Camp for juniors and seniors held July 22-28.

High School Yearbooks for sale!  Order yours at  Select “Yearbooks” at the top of the page and then type in your school name (Lynden Christian High School).  Yearbooks will be available to order ONLINE ONLY again this year.  The cost is $70.00.


Scholarships for Current 8th Grade Students - Several scholarships are available to 8th grade students who plan to attend Lynden Christian High School. These include the Peter Hoekema Memorial Scholarship ($350) and two Faye Rutgers De Boer Memorial Scholarships ($550). Information is outlined in an email sent to parents. Applications are due Thursday, March 29.

Opportunity to Bless - ECS invites you to join us in partnering with the Fredette family (Madeline -5th, Gabrielle – 3rd, & Elise – 1st) as they go to Honduras. Help us bless the children with new or gently used stuffed animals. They need to be the size of a hand or smaller. Collection bins are at both campus locations now through March 26.

Class Pictures will be taken next week. Grades P4-8th (at Spring Creek Campus) plus Spanish Immersion P4 (at Cordata Campus) will have their class pictures on Wednesday, March 28. Grades P3 (at Spring Creek Campus) plus Spanish Immersion P3, K-2nd grades (at Cordata Campus) will be photographed on Thursday, March 29.

K-4th Grade Spring Concert - Students in Kindergarten thru 4th grade, from both Spring Creek and Cordata campus locations, will showcase their musical talents at a Spring Concert on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 pm. It will be held in the sanctuary at our Spring Creek Campus.

Might You Have? - Mrs. Sokol is looking for about 12 long wrapping paper tubes to use as props for the upcoming spring concert. Would you mind bringing some in if you have them? Thank you!

Grandparents/Special Guest Day will be Friday, April 27 at 8:40 am. Invitations will be sent home at the end of the month.


Whatcom Community College is offering a workshop for girls ages 11-14 called “Girls Go Tech” on Saturday, April 14.  The workshop includes: hands-on computer labs, lunch, a guest speaker and career/educational information.  A parent/guardian is required to attend with the student and space is limited.
