I am a 1970 graduate of Lynden Christian. After high school, I went on to Calvin College and graduated in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. After spending 15 years in banking, I came to Lynden Christian as their bookkeeper in 1990. I enjoy my work very much and feel called to serve Lynden Christian in this way.
I met my husband, Gerald, while attending Calvin College. We married in 1975 and moved back to Lynden in 1979. We have two sons, Jonathan and Benjamin.
I grew up across Canada in a Christian environment while spending my summers in Rogers, AR. It was quite the dichotomy; my Canadian/Southern upbringing. I loved it! My parents worked with Campus Crusade for Christ and their work had us traveling across Canada most of my elementary school years. They finally settled in Abbotsford where I graduated from W.J. Mouat High School in 1985. After high school, I attended Trinity Western University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 1989 I went to Lutheran Bible Institute and received a certification in Youth Ministries. Read more about Ms. Kim Powell >

My family came to Lynden Christian Schools from Ferndale as two of my children were making the transition into middle school. Our transition to the LC Family was one directed by the Lord and our experience here has been terrific. After two years, I was welcomed into the Central Office as the Alumni Coordinator and Promotions Assistant. In 2015 I transitioned to the Director of Community Development, a position that challenges and stretches me everyday. My Husband, Rod Stump, is employed with BP as a General Shop Tech.
