Available Scholarships This is the current list of scholarship applications available. Bonnie Penner Witherall Scholarships Scholarships available to graduating LCHS seniors who are interested in foreign missions and desire to attend YWAM, Teen Missions or other evangelical youth organizations that are involved in outreach training. Return applications to Mrs. Van Loo Common Knowledge Bible Scholarship-Book of Proverbs Students in grades 9-12 can complete for a $500 scholarship based on quizzing from the book of Proverbs. Keycodes to access the quiz are available from Mrs. Van Loo. Quiz 1, Proverbs 1-13, available from May 17-24. Quiz 2, Proverbs 14-24, available May 21-24. Lynden Firefighters' Scholarship 5/23/08Two scholarships available to graduating seniors from LCHS and LHS who plan to pursue education and a career in firefighting and/or in emergency medical services. $600. Ludden Scholarships 5/24/08Awards available to LCHS graduating seniors who plan to attend a four-year, two-year, or vocational/technical college. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000. Based on agricultural connection, through school activities, work experiences, or other personal involvement in agriculture. Other award criteria include academics, citizenship and participation in school and community activities, special financial need and essay. Return applications to Mrs. Van Loo. Leo Mullen Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Writing an 5/30/08Scholarship available to graduating LCHS senior who consistently demonstrates strong Christian character and desires to excel in the area of writing. Student does not need to major in writing but should have plans how he/she will use it in his/her career or life. Based on essay, recommendations and excellence in writing. $1,000. Matt Herzog Memorial Scholarship 6/15/08For a student who plans to attend an accredited Washington Sate college full-time beginning in the fall of 2008 and who will pursue a career in law enforcement or a related field. Based on essay, recommendations, academics and participation in school and community activities. One $2,000 award. U. Washington Kappa Sigma Fraternity Scholar Athlete Scholarship 10/1/08Scholarship available to incoming freshmen men as well as male students who are currently freshmen or sophomores. Based on academics, personal statement, honors, extracurricular activities and interview.
